Committing it to paper (or to the blogosphere)

There are certain things I can easily ask, or express, or confess to, in writing, that I can only say with difficulty in a conversation with a person whose face I have never seen. Writing, because it is a commitment of words to paper, keeps me honest in a way that verbal communication doesn’t. Writing gives me a forum to express myself freely, and then know I’m being pursued for who and what I am, and not just as an unknown quantity.
