Taking Steps

One of the biggest reasons I started this blog was an insight I had: That I'd been missing the psychic benefits of Confession (when I stopped going into that little dark booth so many years ago). This blog is to exercise my own capacity for self-revelation.

More public than a diary, it has so far been, de facto, quite private. I have no readers, that I know of. One big reason is that I don't post in it often enough. A fact too obvious to waste time writing about.

But, also: I haven't spent any time in online communities. That was also part of my goal. Get connected with people in other cities. So I'm looking around for one to join. I believe there's one connected with Blogspot, but I haven't poked around enough yet.

So far, I've been doing a lot of posting at 43 Things. I have photos up at Flickr. I like the de-centralized approach to a web presence.

Another thing I've done is to start posting on matchmaking sites. I'm dubious about these, even though I met my last boyfriend through one. Still, it doesn't hurt to set up a couple of profiles. They unfortunately do not allow the posting of blog addresses, unless you do the blogging on their sites. The blogs I have here are enough for now.

Which takes me back to the Obvious. I haven't really done the self-confessional writing, either. Well, this is a start. I've confessed quite enough for now; but I am resolved to add to this blog more frequently. Goal is every day, but it may take me awhile to work up to that.

The picture above is one that I'm using at one of these sites. I had fun yesterday taking pictures of myself, pictures that will allow me to screen my identity in this oh-so-public of places.
