Back to the Blog
Obviously, writing a blog means you're supposed to post in it regularly. Ideally, I'd like to write something in this journal every day. That was my intention when I started, but then crunch time at work came along, as it does from time to time, and all else seems to fall by the wayside for a week or so.
I'm a woman with a mission. I have a mission, a goal, and a plan. The mission is to leave L.A., the goal is to do it with a nest egg of savings and no signficant debt, and that plan has been unfolding successfully for eight months now. Although in my heart of hearts I love and cherish my leisure time, I am trying to act like a workaholic for awhile.
I presently have two jobs. One is a full-time salaried job with benefits. The other is a freelance business that brings in 1099 income. The two jobs are a big part of the plan, obviously. Without my freelance clients, I wouldn't be able to meet my goals for at least four years, more reasonably five. I don't want to wait that long. With the extra income, I have shortened that timeline. If everything continues to go as planned, I'll be ready to leave here in the third or fourth quarter of 2008. That is little more than two years, and there's a lot to do to be ready when the time comes. So it will go very quickly.
So while I have the best intentions for this journal, sometimes days will go by without an update. That's okay; I know I'll get back to it. For anyone out there who might be reading me, I beg your patience, and faith.
